Paint based on natural chalk and acrylic polymer, suitable both for wood and wall surfaces. Thanks to the high solid content allows to obtain a good filling, making surfaces homogeneous with a few number of applications. With good expansion and flexibility, it gives the possibility of perfectly smooth finishes when sanded,. Over-varnishing possible with water- and solventbased paints, waxes, shellac polish. The colors and the special formula of Shabby Provence make it particularly suitable to obtaining shabby chic and Provencal style finishes.
Provencal style finishing: For finishes of this kind, preferably apply one or two coats of Shabby Provence by brush, 130-150gr/m2, as basecoat. Once completely dried you can apply a third coat of a differentcontrasting color, to cover particular parts or even the entire surface.
Now sand with sandpaper grit 220-400, depending on the amount of material to be removed.
Stripped Shabby Effect: For finishing of this kind, preferably apply one or two coats of Shabby Provence by brush, 130-150gr/m2, as basecoat. Once the basecoat has dried, apply on the interested points of the surface (usually edges, but just as good on the flats) by abrasion, Transparent Softwax Filler. Then apply a third coat on the whole, of a different color from the basecoat.
With scotch brite going to remove Shabby Provence just where Softwax Filler prevented adhesion. In those points the effect will be of a stripped surface, with the actual formation of an imperfection in thickness between the two coats of chalkpaint.
